2016 - Current Issued License Plates

In October of 2016, a new style of license plate was introduced in the XX-1234 format.

As of 2017, the only islands that have been earmarked for the new plates are the following:
Code Island
AD New Providence, Nassau
AB Abaco Island
AN Andros Island
BI Bimini Island
BR Berry Islands
GB, GR Grand Bahama
One interesting thing in this announcement is that the government indicated that "Persons currently using reserved numbers will continue to have access to their assigned numbers." I would speculate that this is the same as a "low number" commonly associated to various DMVs in the States, so it does provide insights into how low-numbers are handled in the Islands.
